Le prime impressioni su Ready Player One, provenienti dall’SXSW festival stanno arrivando online e sembrano positive.
L’adattamento di Steven Spielberg del libro fantascientifico di Ernest Cline, che ha tantissime citazioni agli anni 80, sopratutto alla cultura pop e nonostante alcune piccole imprecisioni, il film è stato apprezzato dal pubblico.
Ready Player One, uscirà in Italia il 28 Marzo e segue Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan), un teenager ed un videogicatore che mette la sua vita a rischio pur di vincere una gara nel mondo virtuale del gioco OASIS. Il creatore, deceduto del gioco, James Halliday (Mark Rylance) ha impostato una caccia al tesoro prima di morire, il cui premio trasformerà il vincitore nella persona più ricca della terra e gli darà il controllo di OASIS. Ma una corporazione malvagia, comandata da Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn), vuole tutto per sé.
Il giornalista dell’Hollywood Reporter, John DeFore ha definito il film come “il film che i fan sfegatati del romanzo meritano.”

Just. These movies matter so much to people. To just slap on iconography and references like they are stickers on a bedroom door. It’s such shallow use. It exploits your love for these things instead of earning it.
