Lo scorso Autunno, DC Comics aveva annunciato un rilancio in grande stile della Milestone sotto l’etichetta, Earth M, che avrebbe avuto ben 4 titoli al suo lancio, tra cui Static Shock che ora pare arriverà ad Ottobre.
L’artista della serie, Kyle Baker aveva rivelato ai fan tramite twitter di aspettarsi un ritorno del personaggio. Ora un’altro aggiornamento sempre da Baker ci informa che Stati Shock tornerà ad Ottobre e che non sarà mensile ma bensì bimestrale.

Il personaggio è stato creato nel 1993 da Dwayne McDuffie, Michael Davis, Denys Cowan and Derek Dingle. La verà identità di Static è Virgil Hawkins, un ragazzino di 15 anni che si ritrova a dover affrontare anche dei superpoteri oltre che l’adolescenza. Il personaggio ha anche ricevuto una sua serie animata agli inizi del 2000, facente parte del DC Animated Universe insieme a Batman TAS, Superman TAS, Justice League, Batman Beyond, ecc…
Dopo Crisi Finale il personaggio è stato assente dai fumetti se non per una breve apparizione in Ricanstruction: Reminiscing & Rebuilding Puerto Rico e una breve serie nei New 52.
