Nella notte, in diretta dal Beverly Hilton Hotel di Beverly Hills, in California, si è tenuta l’81ª cerimonia di premiazione dei Golden Globe che apre ufficialmente la stagione dei premi 2024.
C’era molta attesa per questa edizione, poiché è stata la prima sotto la nuova guida della Golden Globe Foundation a seguito dello scioglimento della Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Tra le novità di questa edizione troviamo l’introduzione di due nuovi premi, ovvero il Golden Globe al Miglior Incasso al Botteghino (Cinematic and Box Office Achievement in Motion Pictures) e al Miglior Comico Stand-Up (Best Stand-Up Comedian on Television), oltre ad una nuova statuetta che, per ovvie ragioni, non riporta più la sigla della HFPA.
L’edizione 2024 dei Golden Globe ha visto Oppenheimer trionfare nella sezione cinema con ben 5 premi su 9 nomination, seguito da Barbie, Povere Creature!, The Holdovers e il film francese Anatomia di una Caduta, tutti con 2 statuette. Per quando riguarda le serie tv invece è stata l’ultima stagione di Succession a vincere più premi, quattro per l’esattezza, seguita da The Bear e Lo Scontro (Beef) con 3 premi ciascuno.
